During my inspiring 30-day residency at the Port Austin Artist in Residence, I had the opportunity to create 17 paintings and a striking mural somewhere on the building. Drawing from the rich history of honey production, I opted for a trompe l'oeil style that gives the illusion of an open garage door. To address the challenge posed by the existing windows, I cleverly painted in faux windows above, creating the effect of a glass grid door. This not only showcases my artistic vision but also honors the unique heritage of the space.
